Oodles of Love

Hey there!!! It's the last night of 2013 and I'm enjoying a quiet evening at home. To be honest, I'm totally looking forward to it.  I decided to get a head start on some Valentine's Day cards so I decided to make a CAS card focusing on a simple sentiment from the Stamping Bella set called "Lucille Sends her Love". A bit of DP,  heart shaped dies and  voila, finished!!

Have a safe and happy new years!!!

You overwhelm me

Hi There!!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday spent with family and friends. We had a great day and then spent yesterday in Victoria shopping. Earlier in the week I made this card using the current Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I wanted to make a card with a winter theme but not Christmasy. I used the sentiment from the Uptown Girl set from Stamping Bella called Catherine nibbling chocolate. I love how you can use sentiments from the sets all on their own.

Em is currently having a sale. Enter boxingday2013 and get 30% off!!!

We are still off next week from Bellarific Fridays so you have almost two weeks to get your card in using the inspiration pic above.

Have a great day!!!!

May your glass be half full

Hey there!!! It's almost Christmas and I finally feel almost ready (just have to wrap the gifts... yikes!!!).  LOL!!! I wanted to make a fun tag to go on a wine bottle container to give away during the holidays and thought that this sassy Uptown Girl called "Opal the Optimist" would be perfect!!!  I stamped her with Archival Black Ink and then colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Here's a close up of the tag.

I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!! May your time spent with friends and family be great!!!

Merry Christmas in a shadow box

Hi there!!! Check out the fresh snow... LOL!!! We actually got some fresh snow in my neck of the woods today. Considering it snowed all night long, it really is a pathetic amount. Enough to be annoying but not enough to actually have fun in it.

This week's challenge at Stamping Bella was "Anything Goes". I love getting crafty and making presents at Christmas so I decided to make a fun shadow box frame. One of my fave places in Nanaimo called Salvage recently had a class doing something very similar to this and I loved the idea so I customized it to what I wanted it to be.  I added some "snow", some of the bottle brush trees and a cute red sleigh that I found at Michaels.  I stamped the sentiment called "Merry Christmas and a Happy new year" with some Brilliance white ink (sorry I don't know the exact name of it) onto black cardstock.  (Ignore my shadow in the frame, I tried for days to get a good pic and no matter what it was either my reflection or the camera).

I'm sure you're wondering what the next challenge will be and it's a fun one!!! And you have plenty time to get busy and get creative.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes creations and leave a comment for a chance to win a Stamping Bella gift voucher. Email your card to Em by Jan 9 to be included on Bloggabella and you could win a Stamping Bella gift voucher!

Tag, you're it...

How's everyone doing? Are you like me running around trying to get everything done for Christmas? I'm heading out shortly to do a little shopping before I head to work.  In the meantime, I have a tag to share with you that I made using the Uptown Girl called Chanel the Chef from Stamping Bella. I thought she'd be perfect for when I get around to doing some Christmas baking... Yup, just add another thing to my list, LOL!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

A little Dancin'

Well hello there!! I had so many great intentions of posting a few things this week and then life got in the way aka work and my birthday. Believe it or not, I've had a couple of projects sitting on my desk since last weekend and they are unfinished....

But that's not why you're here. It's Bellarific Friday, my fave day of the week!!! This week, we had an awesome sketch to work with. I decided to step away from the Christmas cards and go with something a bit more springy with a little distressed look to it. For my card, I have used the Stamping Bella set called "Em's Dancing Daffodils". I stamped the image directly onto the DP using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I distressed the edges with my distressing tool and then sponged the edges with some Chocolate Chip ink.

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistah's creations with the sketch.  Next week is our final Bellariffic Friday challenge for 2013!!!  We decided to make it an easy one - ANYTHING GOES - email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella and you could win some bella bucks

Winter Wonderland

Hi there!! I'm super late with getting most Bellarific Friday post up today. Sorry.... my parents got back from a month long holiday today and I've been house sitting so I was a busy girl getting the last of things cleaned up and buying groceries before they got back. But that's not why you're here. LOL!!!

This week our challenge was called "Winter Wonderland" so I decided to ink up Uptown Girl Winona loves winter. I love her!!! Although I am too much of a wimp to even think about going out in the snow in a skirt. LOL!!!

Did you see the fun news today??? We have a new Bella babe!!! We are SUPER DUPER EXCITED that Leslie Good  has joined the team.  I did a happy dance when I found out she was joining.  I stalk her... oops, I admire her blog.

Next week's challenge is a sketch so make sure you get it in to Emily by Thursday evening at emily@stampingbella.com!!

Have a great weekend!!! And I hope it's not too cold wherever you are.

Artsy House Christmas style

Hi there!!! I think I'm getting close to be Christmas carded out on my blog.... On to other things soon, I promise!!! I haven't had the time to play along with the Sweet Sunday sketch challenges recently so I decided it was about time I got my butt in gear and played along... And now as I look at my card, I realized I missed an element of the sketch!!! Oopsy!! Oh  well!

I decided to use the Stamping Bella set called "Artsy House" which I now realize is currently out of stock... Sorry about that....As soon as it's back in stock, I'll make sure I provide the link.  I've paired it with one of Studio Calico's Christmas lines from last year. Have you noticed I'm using a lot of old papers lately? I realized I'm a paper hoarder so I am trying to use some of my older papers so I can justify buying new ones.

Don't forget Emily currently has a sale going on!! Use the code blackfriday2013 to get 30% off.

Bon Voyage Bellarific Friday

Hi there!!! It's been another quiet week on my blog... Sorry about that!! I'm working a ton of hours at work and I am trying to get things done on my time off. This week's challenge at Stamping Bella was a sketch and I know it would be perfect to use one of the Bella image because they are smaller.  For my card, I was inspired by this travel line from Bo Bunny. I have combined it with an image called Arrivadercibella which has been colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Next week's challenge is called "Winter Wonderland". We'd love for you to participate with us!! Just email your card to Emily by Thursday evening at emily@stampingbella.com and you'll see your cards along with ours on Friday.

Don't forget that we're looking for Guest Designers to play along with us!!

Doilies CAS

Hi there!!! I have a quick CAS card for you today but I can't seem to get a good photo of it... Darn it!!! Oh well... What can you do right? I have had the set called "Doily Strand" from Stamping Bella for a long time now but have never inked it up. It reminds me of a strand of lights so I tried to make it look like garlands of lights.  I've used Memento Rose Bud ink and then added some clear rhinestones in the middle for a bit of shine. Don't forget there is still time to enter this week's challenge which is a fun sketch.

Have a great day!!!

Ramona and the penguin

Hi there! Looking at my blog the last couple of weeks I realize I am in full Christmas card mode.  This week at Stamping Bella we had a fabulous inspiration photo to work from. I decided to use the same general color palette for my card and use the layout from this weeks Mojo Monday sketch

I have used the image called Mr. Penguin goes for a ride. I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, keeping it simple.

Next week's challenge is a sketch.

Make sure you get your submissions in by Thursday.

Merry Christmas

Hey there!!! I had a bit of play time this morning and had noticed the recent Fall to Layout and thought it would be perfect for creating some CAS Christmas cards. For my card, I've used the Stamping Bella set called  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a die from Dee's Distinctively dies.

I'm off to work so have a great day!!!!

Naughty or Nice Bellarific Friday?

Hi there!!! How are you all this week?  I've been quiet around here trying to enjoy a little bit of down time. I'm loving this week's sketch over at Stamping Bella but of course I turned it upside down.... I had to figure out a way to make it work for me. For my card, I have used Eve Under the Mistletoe which was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I decided to get a little cheeky using the fun Studio Calico wood veneers that I bought at my LSS recently.

Next week's challenge is an inspiration pic - there are so many ways you could go with this one.

Isn't it fab???

Merry Christmas Bellarific Friday Style

This week at Stamping Bella, we had a Mix and Match challenge where we had to use two stamp sets on our cards. I've been on a kick trying to get some Christmas cards made and knew that this challenge would be a perfect opportunity. For my card, I used one of last year's Studio Calico lines and paired it with "Hanging Ornaments" and "Merry Christmas and a happy new year". The ornaments were stamped with Old Olive ink and the sentiment was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink.  Just an FYI... the sentiment is on sale right now in the store. Score!!!

Next week's challenge is a Sketch :-)

Don't forget about our search for Guest Designers and a possible full time bella babe!!!

Tis the Season

I had a little bit of play time this morning so I decided to have a bit of fun creating this fun journal that I'll be able to use to store my Christmas lists, receipts etc. I bought the new Crate Paper line at my LSS recently and knew I wanted to use it for my journal. The image I've used is called "Tis-the-season-to-be-jolly-a-bella" (say that 5 times fast!!!) which has been colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I thought about adding more embellishments but realized if I'm going to be pulling this out of my purse throughout the Christmas season that it probably wouldn't be a good idea.

Did you hear the news???

Ramona loves to Glide

Hey there!!! I hope you had a wonderful Halloween and aren't experiencing all the rain we're getting on the west coast. Boo!!! It's raining cats and dogs here.... This week our challenge at Stamping Bella was a sketch that I turned on its side so that it would work with the image better. For my card, I have used Ramona loves to glide which has been stamped with Archival Black ink and then colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I paper pieced her jacket to match the DP I've used in the card.

Next week's challenge is called "Mix and Match". We want you to use more than one stamp set on your card.  I already have an idea for my card :-)

Have you heard all the fun news happening at Stamping Bella???

DA BELLA HAS  SALE - Em's hating the wintery cool weather that's come her way so she's offering 20% off the entire store!!  Just use the code novembersale at the checkout.  Sale ends Monday Nov 4.

Happy Halloween

Hi there!!! Happy Halloween everyone!!! I made this card earlier on this week but knew I wanted to save it until today so that I could wish you all a happy halloween.  For my card, I have used Trick-or-treataritas from Stamping Bella. Aren't they hilarious??? I can't decide if I'm the short squat one or the witch? Maybe it depends on my mood... LOL!  I stamped the image with Archival black ink and then colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  The layout for my card is the current Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge that I flipped to make the image work better.

Did you notice that Em hates the colder weather???? She's have a "just because" sale as a result so everything in the store is 20% off!!! Just use the code novembersale in the store.

Fishing Time...

Hi there!!! I've had this card made for awhile but I couldn't post it until after my stepdad's birthday. Okay, who are we kidding??? I made it the day of his birthday but forgot to post it. LOL!!! I'm bad, I know!!! For my card, I used a recent Sweet Sunday sketch challenge because it was perfect for the image. I've used "Fishafella" from Stamping Bella on my card which was stamped using Archival Black ink and then colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. Believe it or not, I used some Simple Stories Christmas DP that I had left over from last year, perfect for a man's card!!! I distressed the edges of each of the panels and then sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink.

I have one more card for the month so I'll see you Thursday!! Have a great day!

May your walls know joy

Hi there!!! Another quiet week on my blog... that's what work does to you sometimes. This week's Stamping Bella challenge was all about making a card using fall colors which was a bit of a struggle for me because they are colors I am not normally drawn to. For my card, I decided to use the current Retro Sketch challenge. I decided to use a sentiment from the set called Uptown Girls Three Amigas

Next week's challenge is a sketch challenge - my fave!!!

Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella - you could win some bella bucks!

A song for you...

Hi there!!! This week at Stamping Bella, we had a fantastic sketch to work with. LOVE IT!!! I'm in love with the fishtail banners on cards and have realized I really should invest in a set of dies for it. LOL. For my card, I have used the Stamping Bella set called "The Choir". Based on the DP I chose for my card (MME Lost and Found Christmas), I decided to stamp the image on Kraft cardstock and then colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. And check, one more Christmas card to add to the pile. Wahoo!!!

Next week's challenge is called "Fall-tastic Friday". We want to see fall colors on your card so break out the rusts, orange, browns, greens and have fun with it!!

Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella - you could win some bella bucks!

Cupcakes and Champagne

Hi there!!! It's Bellarific Friday - one of the best days of the week. This week's challenge was to use stitching on your cards... I tried, I really did!! I can't sew for the life of me (it's really rather pathetic when I try) so I tried using a stamp I have that resembles stitching and I even screwed that up.  A lot of DP was harmed in the making of this card. So I thought, how can I incorporate sewing/stitching on my card and i thought.... pins... they're used in sewing right? Ribbon can be sewn right?  Okay... I'm stretching it but it's the only way I could get a half decent looking card. For my card, I have used Uptown Girls Felicity and Blair. They have been colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I then sponged the edges of all the panels with Close to Cocoa ink to age the card a bit.  The layout for my card is a recent Deconstructed Sketch challenge.

Next week's challenge is a sketch that is fab looking.

Email your card to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella - you could win some bella bucks!

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so I'll be enjoying time with my family. Hope you have a great weekend!!!

HYCCT1310 - Enjoy the Ride

Today I have the honor of hosting a challenge at SCS for this year's Hope you Can Cling To challenges. My challenge is all about using inspiring words. What is your mantra? What keeps you going?

For my card, I have used the Stamping Bella set called "Vienna on her Vespa". The image has been stamped with Archival Black ink and then colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I love how bright and fun my card turned out.  The layout for my card is a recent Deconstructed sketch challenge. I'll be using it again for sure. I love the sentiment I've used on my card, it really makes you think about how precious life can be.  Get out there and enjoy it!! You never know how long it's going to last. We are never guaranteed tomorrow so make the most of your life today.

There are so many fabulous challenges planned at SCS for HYCCT so make sure you check out the forum to see them.  So many wonderful companies are sponsoring prizes too!!!  Stamping Bella is one of them!! We are lucky to have them all on board for this year!!

RS84 Warm Wishes

Hi there!!! Ever since I saw this week's Retro Sketch challenge, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to use my very neglected washi tape. Are you like me with a huge supply of washi tape that goes unused?  LOL!! I'm a hoarder of craft supplies, I'll admit it. For my card, I've kept it really simple with different washi tapes and then a snowflake that I've covered with "fake snow" and the sentiment comes from the Stamping Bella set called "Uptown Girl Quinn in her boots".  I think I may end up reproducing this card numerous time for some of this year's Christmas cards. Easy peasy!!

Girls Night Out

Well hello there!! Another day and I'm still coughing away. Yikes!!! I knew there was a cold going around but had no idea it would hang on this long.  This week's Bellarific Friday challenge was a sketch which are often my starting point for any card. Love a good sketch!!!! For my card, I decided to ink up Victoria and Juliette's Night out. The image has been colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol and then I paper pieced their dresses. Hope you like it!!!

Please stop by Bloggabella to see the rest of the babes and sistah's cards  AND we have a new babe joining us!!  Sandy Dunne is now a bella babe and we are so excited to have her as part of our team!!

Next weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge is "stitch it up"  Add some sewing or faux sewing to your card and email it to Em by Thursday to be included on Bloggabella - you could win some bella bucks!

Brynn and her baby shower

Hi there!!! I'm back... and I'm sick. Yuck!!! It's one of those hazards when you work with kids - the germs!!! I've been down and out for a few days now but decided to color up Brynn and her Baby shower from Stamping Bella yesterday while I was on the couch watching TV.  I must say that she's one of my fave Uptown Girls!! I had been thinking for awhile that there wasn't a pregnant Uptown Girl and then Emily released one the same month.  ESP!!!  Once I saw the current Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, I knew it would be what I'd use for my layout.  Let's just say this simple card took two days to come together...

Here's to hoping I feel better tomorrow.

The Calories don't count

Hi there!!! I was SO excited when my new stamps from Stamping Bella arrived in the mail this week!! It was a super happy mail day for me.  This week, Bellarific Friday is all about keeping your card monochromatic. I really tried, I promise.... I kept the DP and accessories monochromatic but I just couldn't do it, those darn prismacolor pencils were just popping into my hand begging to be used.  For my card, I have used Uptown Girl Chanel the Chef which has been colored with Prosmacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I then used a sentiment from the Uptown Girl Isabelle Loves her Ice Cream. I love how you are able to mix and match the sentiments to another set.  Em's a smart one, I tell ya!!  The layout for my card is the current Seize the Sketch

Next week's challenge is a sketch and my brain is already thinking about it.

Don't forget to send a photo of your creation to Emily@stampingbella.com by Thursday night.  Then stop on by the blog to see the inspiration and leave a comment for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

All about Love...

I sat down over the weekend to make some cards and I'm only getting around to posting them now.  For my first card, I decided to use the current Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge (which I altered slightly).  I bought this Bella Blvd DP over the summer and thought it was perfect to use with this image called "Uptown Girls Brett and Brenda get married". The image was stamped with Archival Black ink and then colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

For my second card, I decided to go clean and simple with no DP. Me??? I made a card with no DP - can you believe it? LOL!!! I love how striking this card looks with its' combination of colors. The sentiment comes from the set  "Uptown Girls Brett and Brenda get married".

Thanks for popping by!!

Christmas Dogs...

Hi there!!! I had a bit of free time to play over the weekend so I whipped up this card using the current Deconstructed Sketch (I have a feeling I'll be using this sketch again soon) along with some new DP I picked up at my LSS. The image called "Confused Christmas Dog" from Stamping Bella has been colored using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I love how bright all of the colours look together.

I made a few more cards over the weekend so I'll be showing them throughout the week :-)

Bellarific Friday - Dream it, do it

Hi there!!! I know, I know... my blog went silent again.  It's been a long couple of weeks for me with my dad having heart surgery last week.  There were some major complications during the surgery which I won't go in to but that meant I was out of town for a few days and then I had to head straight back to work (my first day back was a 13 hour trip to Vancouver for a workshop).  To be honest, I'm exhausted both emotionally and physically.  I needed to check out for a bit to realize all that has gone on.  Good news is that my dad is now home!! Thank goodness.  I urge you all to hug your loved ones!!

But that's not why you're here, is it?  You're here for Bellarific Friday. This week we had a sketch and I decided to go simple and use Jane Girl which is a silhouette stamp. ( I didn't have the energy to even think about coloring anything).  Super simple, I tell ya!!!

Next week's challenge is  Monochromatic Friday.  Pick your favorite Bella Stamp  and choose one color to bring it to life including your papers.. wow! that’s a challenge!!!

Don't forget to send a photo of your creation to Emily@stampingbella.com by Thursday night.  Then stop on by the blog to see the inspiration and leave a comment for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

King of the Candy Cane

Hi there!! Have you noticed a bit of a theme on my blog lately? I'm starting on my Christmas cards early so I don't run out of time like I normally do..... Okay but that's not why you're here. It's Bellarific Friday!! This week at Stamping Bella we were challenged to use a sketch which is often my go to for any card.  For my card today, I've used the image called King of the Candy Canes. The image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The DP is some of last year's Echo Park Christmas lines.  I'm trying to use some of my old paper before I go buy more!!

Have you checked out the Stamping Bella blog and all of the sneak peeks??? Aren't they fabulous??? I'll be showing one on my blog soon, I promise!!

Next week's Bellarific Friday challenge is to use circles on your card.

Don't forget to send a photo of your creation to Emily@stampingbella.com by Thursday night.  Then stop on by the blog to see the inspiration and leave a comment for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Do the impossible

Hi there!!! I had a little bit of free time this morning so I decided to play with the current Fall to Layout before I head to work. I loved the simplicity of the sketch but also the fact that it allows for a bit of fun and able to create a graphic looking card. For my card, I used three different Stamping Bella sets including Mini Bubble Wrap Mesh and French Script for the green polkadots, and Java Spills for the blue circles. I then used the sentiment from the set called "Twirl". I love how they all came together for a fun card. Hope you like it!!!

See you Friday for my Bellarific Friday card :-)

Flower Power

Hi there!! Three days this week, can you believe it?? I know you're impressed. LOL!! It's Friday so we all know what that means, Bellarific Friday!!  This week, our challenge to you is called "Flower Power". We want to see flowers on your card. For my card, I went into flower overload with the image and the DP.  I've used the image called Flower Bottles, which has been a fave of mine that I've never inked up. Can you believe it? The DP is  from Basic Grey (a couple of different lines - Plumeria and What's up).

Next week's challenge is a sketch which I will upload shortly.

Don't forget to send a photo of your creation to Emily@stampingbella.com by Thursday night.  Then stop on by the blog to see the inspiration and leave a comment for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Shopping Time

Hi there!! I'm back for my second card of the week. LOL!! It's about time I started posting regularly again right? Lovetoshopabella is one of the stamps I got in the mail last week and I was itching to have some fun with her.  I stamped her in Archival Black ink and then colored portions of her with Prismacolor Pencils. Her jacket and the presents were paper pieced with MME DP. I then added some shadowing using pastel chalk pencils.  I love how the DP pops off the white background.  Hope you like it!!

See you Friday!!

She's a snow bunny!!

I had a bit of free time this morning (aka I'm procrastinating from getting things done around the house) so I decided to play along with the current Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. I was trying to create the card from memory (in other words,  I didn't take my iPad into my craft room) so I changed up the placement of the fishtail banners.  For my card, I have used "Snowbunnybella" from Stamping Bella. I have loved this image forever but I only just recently got it. It's one of the fantastic stamps I got in the mail last week. Wahoo!! I love new stamps to play with.  LOL!!! I plan to play a bit more today with my stamps so you'll be seeing more from me this week :-)
