ISSC04 Live the life

So.... I've seen my fair share of water this week... too much I guess I could say.  I spent last weekend with some of the ISpy girls, TSG trendsetters, Ribbon Carousel team and had the best time EVER. I haven't laughed so much in so long and it was a trip of a lifetime. I truly love these girls and I know I have some forever friends as a result.

So where does the water come in?  The three crazy Canucks and myself headed back into Canada so I turned my cell phone back on... I kinda wish I hadn't...  It was my brother saying that our basement had flooded (I'm living in a basement suite at his house).   My stuff was quickly getting packed in bags, boxes and up off the floor. My crafty area in the basement took a direct hit from the water.  However, according to the Insurance company and the Restoration company, it's a best case scenario in some regards. The water came up through the flooring (shall I mention it took over 24 hours to locate the water source? or the fact that the water only stopped when we called the city and have them turn off the water at the street?").  So for the next month or so, my life is packed up in boxes, bags etc. and I managed to find some of my crafty stuff... Luckily I had my "essentials" with me when I was away (although I didn't take my paper cutter with me and it is now MIA).

My craft area... after the water and before the floors and drywall have been removed.

Now, I know you aren't here to hear about my water woes, so let's get on with my ISpy card for this week. This week we are featuring this sweet card by Heather Klump (tankgrl at SCS) that was posted in her SCS Gallery on March 22, 2011.

Here is our sketch based on Heather's card.

And of course... I had to alter it aka flip it.

I'm SO glad that I have Kim Teasdale in my life.  She was a lifesaver today!!! I pulled up to her house with my limited crafty items and headed straight into her craft room to make my card for today.  I was completely inspired by this fabulous Authentique DP that I picked up last weekend on our crafty weekend.  I've stamped the sentiment from the Verve set called "Words of Wisdom" in Basic Black.  I then added a few little clear rhinestones to add a little oomph to my card.  And then I got a little ribbon happy with some Antique Gold Vintage Seam Binding, Natural Jute Twine and Box Pleated Ribbon all available at Ribbon Carousel

Thanks for popping by today!!!!

TSG Sneak Peek -Eggstra Special!!

OMGoodness!!! She's SO CUTE!!! When I got this set in my sweet little hands, I inked it up really quickly!! I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and as you can see I kept the layout really simple.  I then added some White Box Pleated ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel as well as some light pink rhinestones.

The darling line art in this set will having you pulling out all your favorite mediums and reconnecting to the “grown-up” artist that you are.

Isn't she a cutie pie?? I'm loving the girls from this set.  I have watercolored the image with my Tombow markers. I even added a little bit of Glossy Accents to the paint brush for extra oomph.  LOL. For my card, I've used this week's Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge (I put the rectangle panel underneath the circle rather than on top).
Every Child is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 14 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Hey everyone, and welcome to our second night of Blog Hop Challenges! Tonight, we have two new sets for you to see, so let's get started!

We have all had a loss for words…but have you ever had a loss for “numbers?” Torico’s new illustrated set brings the numbers to the forefront. With two sets of numbers to color, paper piece, or be creative with ink Numbered days is the set for you to send those birthday and anniversary wishes.

You'll see in my sample below that I've combined Birthday Bots and Numbered Days.
Numbered Days is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 37 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Friendbots, Lovebots, Nursebots, and now Birthdaybots. Torico has been hard at work to bring us another fabulous bot! Is this bot ever cute. What a fabulous way to send out birthday wishes to your little bot.

I had so much fun with this card!!! I spent a 4 day weekend in WA at Jessica Knutsen's (our TSG owner extraordinaire) and colored this up while I was there.  The image was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and then watercolored with Tombow Markers.  I've kept the layout relatively simple as you can see.

Birthdaybot is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 4 stamps and will sell for $7.00.

TSG Sneak Peek - Ba Donkey Donk

Hey TSG Fans!! This month we are SUPER excited to be releasing a SUPER SECRET stamp set!! It was so secret, that even WE(the design team) didn't know about it until Friday!! Jessica has had Melyssa design a SPECIAL stamp set inspired by the group of stampers that have gathered from all over at her house this past weekend...and BOY is it PERFECT for us!!

To celebrate this new set, Jessica has had us all hard at work creating cards for a SPECIAL Blog Hop Challenge! Not only are some of the TSG girls participating, but we are being joined by the other AMAZING stampers that have gathered with us this weekend!
)--

Are you ready for this???

Our new set is called Ba Donkey Donk, and for all you snarky, tongue in cheek stampers out there, THIS is the set for you!! With three different styles of donkey's, and 9 AMAZING sentiments to go with it...really, there ISN'T an occasion you can use these for!!

Ba Donkey Donk is a 4x6 stamp set of 12 stamps that will sell for $15!

As soon as I saw this set, I was giddy with excitement!! I love it in so many ways.  If you know me at all, I can be fairly sarcastic (just ask the donkeys... oops.. girls from this weekend) and the sentiments in this set had me laughing.  I've watercolored the donkey with my Tombow Markers (you're surprised right? LOL) and kept the layout fairly simple.  The twine I've used is Natural Jute Twine the from Ribbon Carousel.
Would you like to win the new Ba Donkey Donk stamp? SFYTT Full of Joy

OMG!!! As this post goes live, I'm having a great time in Washington state with a great group of girls, stamping in our pj's and I'm sure laughing our butts off.  I promise there will be a full re-cap of the trip when I get home along with pics!!!

I've made this card for this month's SFYTT using the Your Next Stamp set called "Seasonal Icons 1".  The image has been stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I have then watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers.  As you can tell.... I flipped the sketch again!! Surprise, surprise!! LOL... For the cups on the right hand side of the card, I've used a MS punch that had coffee cups with whip cream on top.  I've cut the whip cream part off to make the more like the cups in the stamped image.

Hope you like it!! Have a fab day!

ISSC03 Life is what you Make

As you read this post, I'm on my way to Washington state with Kim Teasdale, Tobi Crawford and Laurel Seabrook!!! I'm sure we're having a fun time in the car (the wheels on the bus go round and round...). We'll be spending a few days at Jessica Knutsen's house with a bunch of the TSG Trendsetters, quite a few members of the Ribbon Carousel Crew and a few members of the iSpy team. I'm looking forward to a weekend of crafty time, a lot of giggles and just a weekend of fun!!!

But that's not why you're here right?  LOL!!! This week at iSPY Sketches, we have been inspired by  by this card by Sean Fetterman aka sfetterman on SCS.

Another sketch that had me stumped.. although I did have an idea as to what image I wanted to use.

I've used the Stamping Bella image called "Twinkletoes Huggabugg" which has been watercolored with my Tombow markers and then Diamond Stickles was added to the Huggabugg's wings. I rarely use orange and pink together but the DP was calling to me and I knew it had to be used!! Love it!!! I've also used some Dark Pink Seam Binding from the Ribbon Carousel. It's hard to see in the pic but I've used a sentiment from the MFT set called "Pearls of Wisdom" that says "Life is what you make it".

Pop on over to the iSpy blog to see what the girls have been up to!!!

SBEBC Best Wishes

Yeah!!! We're back with another challenge at Scrapbook Essentials BC.  We've gone to a bi-weekly challenge to give participants more time to create and have fun.  This week, Lesley has created a fantastic clean and simple sketch for us.

Surprise, surprise!! I've flipped the sketch.  LOL... If you know me, I always make it my own.  For my card, I've used Indie Bloom DP from Basic Grey as my inspiration for colouring the butterflies from the set "Natural Butterflies 1" .  Each of the butterflies have been watercolored with Tombow Markers.  Clean and Simple, Nice and Easy.

Thanks for popping by!!!

SFYTT Bee Mine

Yeah!!! My "Your Next Stamps" order arrived earlier this week and I couldn't wait to make a card with this month's Sketch for You to Try. Your Next Stamps is the sponsor at SFYTT this month and as this month's Guest Designer I get to play with their stamps too. Yeah!!! I was disappointed that I didn't have them for the first card this month but I'm delighted to use them for this card. When I opened up the stamps, I was incredibly impressed with the quality of "Your Next Stamps".  Phenomenal!!! I know I'll be placing an order soon for some fun goodies.  The image I have used on this card is from the fabby set called "Seasonal Icons 1". The image has been stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers. I paper pieced the hearts (one of the SFYTT girls did it on their card and I love the look) and I've also added some Diamond Stickles to the bee's wings for a bit of extra dimension. Isn't that DP fabulous? I made a trip to Parksville to Scrapbookin' Adventures the other day (our closest scrapbook store) and found this fabulous Pebbles DP. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It's been awhile since I've had DP that I just "had" to have. The twine on my buttons is Black Jute Twine from the Ribbon Carousel.

Don't forget you have all month to play along with this month's Sketch for You to Try.

Did you see the fun announcement on Jen's blog today? Karen of Your Next Stamps is offering up some fun for SFYTT participants.

ISSC02 We have Chemistry

WOW!!! What an amazing response for the first iSpy sketch last week.  We were totally blown away by all the entries!!! This week's card is based on Beate's "Sweet lil Sheep" and how cute it is!!!

When I first saw the sketch, I'll admit I was a little scared. Okay.... a LOT scared.  And then I wished I had that fantastic pennant die.... which I don't.  (may have to invest in it sometime soon though).

I loved Beate's color combo so I just had to use it (but reversed the order of them on the card).  I've used DP from We R Memory Keepers and My Mind's Eye.  Chemistry is my all time fave TSG set and with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I knew I had to pull it out one more time this season.  (Don't worry.... I only have one more Valentine's card to share with you before the big day next week). I stamped the main image in Versafine Onyx Black, embossed with clear embossing powder and then watercolored with my Tombow Markers. The black jute twine I've used on my card is fromt he Ribbon Carousel.  Easy peasy I tell ya!!

Now head on over to the iSpy blog to check out all of the fabulous eye candy!!!

VLV Let's Get Together

I had so much fun playing along with January's Viva la Verve challenges at SCS, I knew I had to play along again this month.  This is the first sketch for this month's challenges.  I've used the Verve set called "Sip and Savor".  I have stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I paper pieced some of the Heart Paper collection from Crate Paper and then added a little highlight around the edge of the cups with my Tombow Markers.  Pretty simple and quick card.  Yeah!!!!

And of course, we're giving away some AMAZING prizes!!!

It's an "Anything Goes" challenge at RCC and I had a LOT of fun with this card using the fantastic set called "Tiki Time".

For my card, I was inspired by the current "Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge".  I first stamped the margarita images in Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then watercolored them with my Tombow Markers.  To add a bit of "Salt" to the glass, I used Diamond Stickles.  I've also used my favorite Black Jute Twine to finish off my card from the Ribbon Carousel. Add a few of the fantastic sentiments from the set and Voila... my card.

TSG142 From the Heart

This week our challenge at There She Goes  is brought to us by Torico! She has challenged us to make a card or project using a negative die cut. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I automatically thought of this card by Kasia Curry.  (I've tried finding the direct link on her blog and haven't been able to find it).  ETA:  Here is the direct link to Kasia's card. Casing a card is something, I very rarely do but I loved everything about her card.  However, I have switched up the DP as well as the sentiment.  For my card, I've used a sentiment from the TSG set called "Everyday Greetings".  I love this set because of the simplicity of all the sentiments and their versatility. Right before I started making this card tonight, I checked out SCS and noticed that the CAS challenge was up and this week it's all about hearts.
To be eligible for the giveaway, create a card or project using a negative die cut and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (February 13th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)
You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG142 so we can check out your beautiful work!

SFYTT A little Hello

OMGoodness!!! Check out that little logo above!! Can I just say WOW!! Jen del Muro and Susan Liles asked me, YES ME to be the February Guest Designer for Sketch for You to Try. My first response when I was asked was "Are you sure you emailed the right person?".  I'm super excited to be playing along with all of the FABULOUS ladies at SFYTT.  So many of the ladies are my stamping idols so it's a true pleasure and honour.

Fabby sketch eh?? Love it!!!

This month, Your Next Stamp is the sponsor and I can't wait to play with their stamps. Unfortunately, they didn't get here  in time but  I'll be playing with them as soon as they arrive.

So here's my card.  Cute eh?

As you can see, I have flipped the sketch on its' side (such a rebel...) because the fabby Addy'tude from Stamping Bella worked better this way.  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and then fussy cut her out so that I could pop her up to give her some dimension. I added some rhinestones as her earrings.  Who wouldn't want those stunners in their ears right?  I'll take some sparkle and bling anywhere I can get them.    The DP for my card is a mix of Basic Grey Picadilly and My Mind's Eye.  As you can see... I changed the sketch up a little itty bit and used the long rhinestone swirl as the three circles in the sketch.  I love the look that it gives and it's still looks like the original sketch.

Thank you so much for popping by!!! I'll be playing along with Your Next Stamps as soon as i get them.  Pop on over to Jen's blog to check out all the details about this month's sketch.

Have I mentioned this is a dream come true???

ISSC01 I've met my match

I can't believe the time has finally arrived!!! It's the inaugural sketch for iSPY Sketches. We've teased you a little throughout the week and we're so excited about unveiling our first sketch based upon this amazing card from Loretta Lock.

Now if you know me at all.... I'm a rebel and I rarely leave a sketch in its' original state.  This time, I've flipped it on its' side so that I could use the fabby a la Mode image called "I've met my Match" from My Favorite Things.

I've stamped the a la Mode in Versafine Onyx Black and have coloured it with Tombow Markers.  (surprise, surprise right?) LOL!!! The DP for my card comes from a few different of my fave DP companies including Pink Paislee, My Mind's Eye and We R Memory Keepers.  The fabulous Scarab vintage seam binding and Blossom Twinery Twine are both available at The Ribbon Carousel.  I had so much fun adding the rhinestones to the Wonky Scallop Border Dienamic from My Favorite Things (I've had it since shortly after it came out and this was the first time it has seen daylight - LOL).
