TSG128 Au Naturale

This week at There She Goes, one of our newest Trendsetters, Jenny (a fellow Canadian) is challenging us to go "Au Naturale".  In other words, we want to to see you using jute, twine, hemp, burlap etc.  I finally got one of my fave TSG sets "Let's Get Together" and just had to use it (I think a lot of you like it too!!! Every time I tried to get it, it was always sold out).  I stamped the cup onto Kraft cardstock and then cut it out.  I made a coffee sleeve using some Echo Park "Season's Greetings" DP.  This card definitely reminds me of the fact that Starbucks will be coming out with their "Christmas cups" soon.  My fave drinks are their Salted Caramel Mochas or a Peppermint Mocha.  Yummy!!! The sentiment I've used comes from the TSG set called "Wonderful Winter Wishes".  I thought that it worked perfectly with my nice warm cozy drink.  LOL!!! The Natural Jute twine I've used is from the Ribbon Carousel.  Thank goodness I've ordered more (I'm almost out of mine - yikes!!!).  Jeanie Whitmer of the Spotted Chick is hosting her "That's Krafty Thursday" challenge again so I'll be adding my card there.  Have you seen her cards? WOWZA!!!

Thanks for dropping by!!! And enjoy a nice warm drink today!!!

Here's to You

Isn't she just so fine?  I'm loving that glass of champagne, I tell ya!!! I had a bit of free time on Friday so I decided to play a little.  I haven't had much time to play any of the challenges at SCS, so I decided to take a peek at what was going on.  I've always loved the a la Mode line from MFT but haven't had the opportunity to ink any up in quite some time. As soon as I saw this week's MFT sketch, I knew it lent itself to using an a la Mode and I chose to use "Cheers".  It's also been quite some time since I've been able to enter the MFT Guest Designer Contest and this month it's all about the BLING!!! And you know how much I love my bling!!! So of course I decided to combine the two.   I've watercolored parts of the image with my Tombow Markers and then paper pieced the rest using DP from My Mind's Eye Blush line.  I'm loving the simplicity of the card yet it still is striking (well I think so anyway...). LOL.  Hope you like it!!!

TSG Sneak Peek - No Peeking

Welcome back to Day three of Sneak Peeks for the upcoming TSG Release!! Torico has really hit it out of the park for this set, I tell ya!!  Kids love to countdown the days until Christmas is finally here and with this new set illustrated by Torico, you are going to have just as much fun creating a countdown advent calendar! With 25 different adorable holiday images and two sets of numbers the possibilities are endless! To make this set even more useable, there are two decorative circles and two decorative squares that were designed to be used with a 1 3/8” punch!!

I had so many fun ideas with this set but to be truthful.... I ran out of time!! I'm normally not a last minute stamper and unfortunately that's what happened...  My mojo up and took a hike on me as well - bad timing.  I was inspired by Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge which worked out quite perfectly.  I can't wait to have more time to create an advent calendar with this set (I have some fantastic little metal containers that will work perfectly).

No Peeking!is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 53 stamps and will sell for $24.
Would you like to win the new No Peeking! stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.

We have another fabulous set from Torico – she’s showing off her range of creativity. Whip us some delicious greetings with the new Bon Appetit set. From the succulent turkey to steamin’ hot pie create some mouthwatering table settings and pass down secret family recipes for generations to come. Compliments of Chef Torico!

LOL!!! Isn't this chef just too cute? I have to say, I'm in love with him and maybe that bottle of wine.  LOL... I'm not a huge drinker but a little white wine now and then never hurt anyone right?  This set is coming out at a perfect time for me as I just started taking cooking classes last week.  I'm an okay cook... but not a great one!! I thought that this card would be fantastic for the gentleman teaching the class as a thank you.

Bon Appetit is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 31 stamps and will sell for $18.

TSG Again week

This week over on the TSG blog, the Senior Trendsetters are highlighting some older TSG sets, those being Bountiful Blessings, Gobble, and Autumn Mosaic.  Throughout the week, we have shown cards made with this week's challenge (partial images), cards from the original release, new Tips and Tricks and today we are making a new card using one of these sets.

I decided that because I had used both Bountiful Blessings and Autumn Mosaic on my Monday card, I decided I just had to use Gobble.  Love that set!!! As soon as I saw this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch at fellow TSG Trendsetter Karen Giron's blog, it screamed clean and simple to me so I knew it would be perfect for the turkey from Gobble.  I've stamped the turkey in Versafine Vintage Sepia and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then watercolored the image with watercolor pencils (just a break from my Tombow Markers).

Clean and Simple, Easy Peasy!!! Thanks for dropping by today.

RCC25 Halloween CAS

Laurel is using this gorgeous photo from Shelley B Home and Holiday to inspire our creations for this week’s Ribbon Carousel Challenge (RCC25).
And this week, we’re giving away one $10 Gift Certificate from RibbonCarousel.com to one lucky random participant!
As soon as I saw the inspiration photo, I knew I wanted to keep the CAS look.  It's something I rarely do but I love the look of it.  I was in Michael's last week when I came across some Halloween Diecuts from K&Company and they were on sale so I decided I had to nab them.  I figured they'd be perfect if I ever made a Halloween scrapbook layout.

My first card uses the K & Company die cuts as well as ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.  The ribbons I've used are: Black Licorice Divine Twine and Orange Sheer edged ribbon

And my second card uses another ribbon which is currently out of stock... sorry about that!!! Oops....
We'd love for you to join us this week at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge!!!

There She Goes (Again) Week - TSG126 Partial Images

This week our challenge at There She Goes is brought to us by our Senior Trendsetters. The week before release week there will be a TSG (Again!) week where we will be featuring cards/projects/tip sheets/etc. on the TSG Blog that use our fabulous older TSG stamp sets. This week the challenge is to create a card or project that features only a "partial image" where you only use part of an image as the focal point instead of the entire image. We will be highlighting Autumn Mosaic, Bountiful Blessings and Gobble

I've always loved this time of year with the crisp air and all the leaves falling (well... except when you have to rake said leaves - that I hate...) and of course my fave Salted Caramel Mocha back at Starbucks... Have I ever mentioned I love my Starbucks? LOL..

For my card today, I've combined the leaves from Bountiful Blessings (which have been stamped in Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip) with one of the sentiments from Autumn Mosaic.  I know what you might be thinking... I have a full image there with one of the leaves.. LOL... but don't forget I have three partial leaves.  Go me!! The DP is from Fancy Pants Designs "Summer's End" line that I bought at my LSS and the ribbon (gotta love Walnut Brown seam binding) is from the Ribbon Carousel. (I'll definitely be ordering more of it soon).

We'd love for you to participate with us this week so head on over to the TSG blog for all of the details.

Swimming for Katie Update

I have never met Katie Renz in person but know her through one of my past design teams, Clear Dollar Stamps. In the time that I got to know her, I realized one thing - Katie has a heart of gold and a treasure for all who know her. I was saddened this morning to read this blog post written by her husband. It's just so heartbreaking knowing a lady who has so much to live for may not be able to fulfill all of those hopes and dreams.

Swimming for Katie has been a great success in raising funds for the family but that doesn't make it any easier for the tough road ahead.  Please consider making a donation (here is the direct link) to help the family out.  They are an amazing family who needs our help now more than ever.  If you aren't able to make a donation, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I also want to say a quick thank you to Kate of i heart papers. She has been instrumental in this latest effort and I am so thankful that she is one of Katie's warriors and angels.  Hugs to you girl!!!

Hug your loved ones today!!!

Swimming for Katie Blog Hop and Fundraiser

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer. If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file. 100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family. Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support. In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and True =D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale. Direct donations are also being accepted. Information central is HERE. This is a permanent page that will stay active at i {heart} papers with current information and the full 3 day blog hop listing, as well as the donation button.

Here are all the items available for sale.

I hope you will join me in supporting Katie through a purchase or donation. The following is a list of everyone who has projects posted today. I hope you will be inspired by them and moved to purchase or donate.

TSG125 BOO!!!

WOW!! What a fun sketch! Jackie (our Trendsetter of the week at There She Goes) really has wowed us this week with such a fantastic sketch and I couldn't wait to play with it as soon as I saw it.  Love it!!! (I had my card ready on Thursday if you can believe it!!!).

Hauntingly Delightful has always been one of my favorite sets so I had to pull it out again.... I can't get enough of the images from this set.  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and then cut it out (very carefully) with my craft knife and then popped it up with pop dots for a bit of extra dimension.  I also created a border using the newly released Spider Web Die which I also added some purple rhinestones to (if you know me, you know I love my bling...).  I wanted to do something a little different so rather than using the banner I decided to use some Thickers to spell the word BOO.

We'd love for you to participate with us this week.  So head on over to the TSG blog to check out all the fantastic eye candy that the DT has provided you with for this sketch!! Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Happy Holidays

Hey there everyone!!! How's it going?  I feel like I'm beginning to get on a roll with my Christmas cards finally...  I made this CAS card (well not totally CAS but it is for me) trying to keep in mind things that would be easy to mail.  I've used this week's Card Patterns sketch (although I messed up on it a little - oops!!!).  Note to self:  copy down the sketch rather than trying to do it from memory... my mind isn't what it used to be LOL).  I've dry embossed the Kraft layer with the Snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder (easy peasy I tell ya).  I added some 7/8" white crochet lace from the Ribbon Carousel and added an acetate snowflake that I've had for quite some time with a button and natural jute twine.  The sentiment panel uses a sentiment from the TSG set called Snowy Days.

And there you have it... another Christmas card down!!! Yeah!!! Go me!

RCC23 You mean the world to me

Wowza!!! It's October already! Where has this year gone?  It feels like it's just flying by...  too quickly!!! I'm back again (can you believe twice in just a few days?) with a fun card for this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge which is anything goes.

Firstly, I need to apologize for the crappy picture quality. I'm house sitting right now and didn't think to bring my Ott Lites with me for picture taking of cards.  I have always been a big fan of Jen del Muro's SFYTT so when I saw October's challenge I knew it was perfect for the image I wanted to use. I've used an MFT a la Mode called "You mean the World to me".  I stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder before watercoloring with my Tombow Markers.  I've used DP from My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Collection and also used some of it on the paper pieced shirt.  I'm a teacher and I studied Geography in University so this set was a must have for me.  I then added some of the Natural burlap twine from the Ribbon Carousel to finish off the card.  Isn't it lovely?

We'd love for you to participate with us this week!!! But remember you MUST use ribbon, twine, etc (basically anything that comes on a spool in your creation!!) The Ribbon Carousel is the sponsor this week and will be giving away one of the October Ribbon Club Kits to a lucky participant!!!

If you like the Ribbon for this month's kit, make sure you check out the Ribbon Carousel site (I've added the direct link for you) to sign up for the club.  It really is a fantastic economical way to get awesome ribbon.

All Wrapped up

LOL..... I'm sorry!! I couldn't resist.  Maybe it's my sick sense of humour... not too sure!!! I've had a busy couple of weeks but I had some down time today so I decided I wanted to play just for the sake of it.  And what better excuse but to make cards on World Card Making Day.  Laundry? What laundry? LOL...

The Ribbon Carousel is sponsoring CAS-ual Friday this week so I decided I wanted to incorporate their challenge into my card. Their challenge is to get loopy with ribbon!!! You know I love my ribbon so that was easy!!!  I've used some Ivory Lace ribbon and some Black Jute/Burlap twine on my card.  I made a loopy bow using some of the ribbon as well as a button to hold it in place.

I loved this week's TESC sketch so I decided I wanted to incorporate that as well... yes... I took a liberty or two but isn't a sketch a starting off point?  Let's just go with that and we'll keep it a secret... no one needs to know right? LOL. I've always enjoyed the Stella line from Stamping Bella and this Tangled Stella is no exception.  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow markers and then added a sentiment from the TSG Set, Hauntingly Delightful (which is unfortunately out of stock right now - sorry!!) .  I couldn't resist... the sentiment and image just go together so well.

Have a great day!!!
