RCC9 Happy 4th

Wow... I've had so much fun this last week or so spending time with family visiting from England. I' haven't gone near my craft desk in almost two weeks until today (unless you count the hours I spent on Thursday cleaning up my craft area) but I'm back with a new card for this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge which is to celebrate the 4th of July.  It's kinda funny that the week where half the DT showing cards are Canadian, the theme is Happy Birthday America.  I couldn't find any Canada stamps for Canada Day (and who would I really give a Canada Day card to).

So I decided to simple with my card today, just using the sentiment "Happy" combined with some Red Thickers I had left over from using on Christmas cards.  I added some twine to the buttons and then behind the main panel I added some Gingham ribbon and Crocheted lace.  Easy peasy!!!

We'd love for you to join us this week!!! Make sure that your creations need to have ribbon, twine etc somewhere on the card.

Hugs!!

WOWZA... The sun is shining and I've been having a great week with family visiting from England. It's always fabulous spending your days seeing things you wouldn't normally go to.  Love it!!! Oh wait... you're here for our third and final day of TSG Sneak Peeks aren't you?  LOL... I'm the first official stop on the hop.  Wahoo!!!

One of the best things about the summer is being able to go for a refreshing swim. Whether you prefer a lake, ocean or pool- you will love this new stamp set illustrated by Torico! Make A Splash will have you saying "Mermaids, seahorse and fish ohmy".

Isn't she amazing?  I absolutely love the images in this stamp set and it was hard to pick just one to use...  I was inspired by the Cosmo Cricket DP for this card and also use the Wave Dienamic from MFT.
Make A Splash is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 21stamps and will sell for $18.

The next stop on today's blog hop is the amazing Ann

TSG Sneak Peeks - Vroom and Hibiscus

Hey there!!! Welcome back for Day two of TSG Sneak Peeks for this months' release.  I hope you enjoyed yesterday's eye candy!!!  I'm the first official stop on the hop but there will be a master list at the TSG blog.

This adorable car illustrated by Melyssa is great to make a fun, every day card for family and friends! The larger car featured in this mini set was sized so that it could also be used with Leah (who can be seen in the Freeze The Moment stamp set).

I kept my card relatively simple today because I've been out enjoying the beautiful weather and sight-seeing with family visiting from England.

Vroom is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 6 stamps and will sell for $7.

These gorgeous tropical flowers were illustrated by Torico and will quickly become a favorite from your summer stamping collection! Use them to create beautiful custom designer paper, color in the line art images to use as a focal point for your project or pair them with a TSG sentiment stamp set for a card that can be given for any occasion.
Hibiscus is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $7.

Would you like a chance to win the Vroom / Hibiscus stamp sets? TSG Sneak Peek - The Fairy Best

Welcome to Day 1 of Sneak Peeks for this month's TSG Release.  We have some fantastic sets we'll be showing you over the next few days. Last month Di was enchanting us with her adorable prince and princess stamp set and this month she is bringing us a magical fairies. These fun and whimsical images were sized so that they can work together with the Once Upon A Time stamp set for you to create even more scenes! I'm the first official stop on the blog hop today, so grab your cup of java (or your frappucino) and enjoy the eye candy we have for you today.

For my card, I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and then added Stardust Stickles to the fairys' wings.  (although the Stickles seem to have dried a little funny...not happy about that...).  The layout for my card comes from this month's SFYTT at Jen del Muro's blog.

The Fairy Best is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 13 stamps and will sell for $18.

I like bling... a lot...

Hey there.... another quiet week on the ole blogarooni here... We have relatives visiting from England (they're on the mainland right now, therefore I need to get it all done today before going away for the weekend) so I've spent much of the week getting prepared by re-painting some of my parents furniture and realizing I may not be the best of painters, also decided to de-clutter our place.... Can you believe I got rid of 7 garbage bags full of clothes?  I'm still trying to get the rest of the house totally clean and finishing up some design team projects for next week's TSG sneak peeks.

In the mean time, I decided to show you all a necklace I made a couple of weeks back but hadn't posted to my blog yet.  Isn't it pretty?  I realize I need to find a better way to photograph jewelry because this pic just doesn't do it justice.  I love the idea of the two strands of beads as it gives the necklace more presence and it makes a statement.

Well.... I guess I better get going here and finish all the cleaning.. yuck!!!

RCC7 Music to your Ears

Hey there everyone!! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are enjoying the sunshine out there... We finally have a stretch of nice weather so I've been trying to get outside more and we have family visiting from England so my blog may be a bit quieter than normal because I'm not really around much right now.

When I first saw this week's Ribbon Carousel challenge "Music to my ears"   I was a little bit freaked... This week, Linda wants us to let the jammin’ tunes of an IPOD, CD or radio inspire your creations this week. You could use vintage sheet music, music stamps or die cuts, or even the lyrics of your favourite tune.

I'm not a big music person, I normally just listen to whatever is on the radio (I can't even remember the last time I bought any music...).  So when I started to go through my stamps, I really had to think about what stamps I had that would fit this week's theme.  As soon as I saw the PI girl "Lollipop Girl", she had me singing "Lollipop, Lollipop" and I knew I had to use her ( sorry if that song gets stuck in your head :-)  LOL...  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and pulled the colors from the Pink Paislee DP. The layout comes from this week's MFT Sketch Challenge which I'm so happy I had the chance to play along with.  Love it!!!

We'd love for you to participate with us this week but just remember that your creation must include ribbon, twine, etc (basically anything that comes on a spool).

Thanks for dropping by!!!

TSG110 Happy 65th!!!

Wowza... has my blog ever been quiet this last week. I worked a few days I hadn't expected to and with the nice weather finally coming our way, I've been spending more time outside enjoying the rays and trying to darken my pasty white skin... Yup... I'm pasty white!  LOL.  This week over at TSG, I'm the featured Trendsetter so I get to pick this week's challenge which I decided to be all about Milestones in life whether it be an important birthday,  wedding, graduation etc.  It's my dad's 65th birthday today, so I used the opportunity to celebrate my dad's big day.  We've already been bugging him because his "Gold" Care card has arrived (Care cards in BC are basically our medical card and when you turn 65 if you show it on the BC Ferries, you get on free certain days of the week).  We threw my dad a birthday party on Saturday night which included a fabulous barbeque (aka cookout for all my Southern friends), we watched the Canucks beat Boston in overtime (GO CANUCKS!!!) and enjoyed a night with family and friends.

For my card today, I decided to use the sets "Make a Wish" (for sentiment that is above main image but is hard to see in photo), and LOL Taglines for main image and inside of card.  The main image has been watercolored with my Tombow markers and then Glossy Accents was added to the beer can.  If you know my father at all, he loves to fish and what man doesn't love a beer while sitting in the boat right?.

Here's the inside of the card:

We'd love for you to join us at TSG in our "Milestones" challenge.  Don't forget that one lucky participant will win a $5 Gift certificate to the store and someone will be in the Trendsetting spotlight.  Now head on over to the TSG blog to see what the DT has come up with for this challenge.

Happy Birthday DAD!!!
