BLDC#6 A happy day

Wow it was a busy weekend... however I did manage to squeeze in a bit of time for stamping.  Yeah!!!  I've had this super cute Sugar Stick girl from By Lori Designs for awhile but hadn't had a chance to colour it up (with my Tombow Markers) so this weekend was the time.  Think I'm wishing for nice weather?  Yup!!! I sure am!  Anything to get rid of this darn snow on the ground.  I chose to use this week's colours from the By Lori Designs color challenge (although though I didn't have an exact blue so I had improvise a little bit with the buttons.

Thanks for popping by!!!!  And make sure you drop by on Friday to see the newest members of the Lori Boyd Designs digis!!!!

TSG96 An act of Kindness

Hey there ladies!!! So did you enjoy our sneak peeks for the new release?  Aren't the new sets just fabulous!!!  If you haven't checked them out, make sure you check them out. On another note, this week’s challenge is brought to you by our Trendsetter of the Week, Piali at There She Goes! She wants us to stamp on something OTHER THAN CARDSTOCK! Pull out some ceramic tiles, metal, acetate, cardboard, textiles, etc. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Now I have to tell you, this had me thinking? No stamping on paper?  What's up with that?  I thought about making some tiles but then I'd have to go buy some, so I looked around my house and in my stash of goodies to alter and what did I find but this candle?  Have you ever stamped on a candle before?  So easy I tell ya!!! You stamp onto white tissue paper and then using your heat gun very carefully you basically melt the paper into the candle. For the image and sentiment, I've used the set called "Act of Kindness". I hadn't used it yet and thought this would be the perfect opportunity.  I think a candle like this would be perfect for a hostess gift or a simple thank you.  We'd love you to play along!!! Make sure you check out the TSG blog for more details....  don't forget that one lucky participant will win a $5 gift certificate to the TSG store and someone has the opportunity to be in the "Trendsetting Spotlight".

Not only has TSG had a release this week, we're having an "Out with the Old" sale.  5 sets are on sale for a limited time - a great way to get some of those sets that you've been thinking about.

Have a great day!!!

Never Stop Sparkling!

Hey there everyone!!! It's been a busy yet fun week on my blog and I'm so excited about all the fun things happening.  It's been quite some time since I've participated in the Stamping Bella Bellarific Friday but when I saw that this week's challenge is using stamps that haven't seen ink, well that was easy!! I've had this stamp for over a year now and had never had the opportunity to ink it up.  I actually made this card a few weeks ago at our fun girl's stamping weekend but didn't have the opportunity to post it - I guess I saved it for a reason eh?  Wahoo!!!  I've stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black, embossed it with clear embossing powder and then watercolored it with my Tombow Markers.  Loving it!! I bought all of this DP when I was away with the girls and it really inspired me to make this card and use it as a great jumping off point for how I colored this cute Addy. Isn't that a fantastic sentiment?  Of course, I had to use some of the Tiny Twinkles (borrowed from Danielle Lounds) for the earrings and then some Stickles on Addy's bracelets and ring.  Gotta get the card full of sparkle and bling.  After all, that's what I'm all about!!!

TSG Sneak Peek - Flying By and Good Times.

Welcome back to the third and final day of There She Goes sneak peeks for our upcoming release.  The Design team has been rocking the sets this week haven't they?  Make sure you grab your cup of coffee (or as Corinna calls it - bean juice) and sit down for a great blog hop today.  You'll love what the girls have created today. I'm the first official stop on the blog hop today after the TSG blog.  If there is a break in the hop, there will be a master list at the TSG Blog.

Iwona has done it again! She is bringing us some precious little girls that are ready to capture the joy of spring! Whether chasing balloons or butterflies, these little ones will help express your joy to the recipients of your cards.

I was so excited when I saw Iwona's aka Chupa new set called Flying By. These girls are just way too cute and scream girlie and Spring.  I was inspired by the DP for my color choices on my card.  The image has been watercolored with my Tombow Markers and then I sponged in a "Cloud" background (I had a bit of a time with it but I like how it turned out).  Please note that the balloon on the image in the set is actually a full balloon. I chose to not include part of it so that I could use this particular nestabilities.

“Flying By” is a 3X4 stamp set that includes a total of 5 stamps and will sell for $7.

Would you like a chance to win the “Flying By” stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their “Flying By” Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own “Flying By” stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (Feb 26th) during the Release Party Chat.

Time is precious to all of us, and Torico has illustrated a new set that showcases that fact! Her sweet and “time”less spring critters will not only have you using your time wisely, but they’ll also be bringing endless smiles to your faces.

My goodness, our illustrators at TSG have got talent!!! Every month, I swear I jump with joy when I see the new sets and this set is no exception.  All of the images are just way too cute and it was hard choosing just one.  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow markers as usual (surprise right?).  I had so much fun pulling the colors from this MME DP (and the tan color is Basis Grey).  Love it!!!

“Good Times” is a 4X6 stamp set that includes a total of 11 stamps and will sell for $15.

Would you like a chance to win the “Good Times” stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their “Good Times” Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own “Good Times” stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (Feb 26th) during the Release Party Chat.

TSG Sneak Peek - In all the World and Sentimental Birthday

Hey there everyone!!! Welcome back to Day 2 of this month's There She Goes sneak peeks!!!   We have some great eye candy for you today.!!  I'm the first official stop on the blog hop today after the TSG blog.  If there are any breaks in the hop, there will be a master list at the TSG Blog.

Chris Dark is back with another adorable and playfully illustrated canine set that includes butterflies and a precious picket fence. Add in some sensational sentiments, and you’ve got another TSG set that can’t be passed up!

“In All the World” is a 3X4 stamp set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $7.

Would you like a chance to win the “In All the World” stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their “In All the World” Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own “In All the World” stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (Feb 26th) during the Release Party Chat.

Who doesn’t need a sentiment set that consists of various birthday sayings? What’s even better is that this set showcases the gorgeous handwriting of our very own Julie Lacey. If you’ve loved her other sentiment sets, then this one will be another lovely addition!

I know I've said it over the last couple of months, but I just love Julie's handwriting!!! It's gorgeous and I can't get enough of it.  Her handwriting has such a whimsical feel to it and creates such a great starting point to making a fantastic card.

I've used this month's SFYTT at Jen del Muro's blog as my starting point as I thought it would showcase the sentiment so well. The sentiment has been stamped in Basic Black and then sponged with SU Pink Pirouette and Memento's Rosebud Inks.  The DP is from K & Company's Sweet Nectar line which is fantastic for Springtime cards.

“Sentimental Birthday” is a 2X6 stamp set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $7.

Would you like a chance to win the “Sentimental Birthday” stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their “Sentimental Birthday” Blog Hop Challenge post. SSD65 A Little Latte

*** If you are looking for my TSG Blog Hop post, please scroll down just a smidge***

Wow has this month ever flown by!!! I've totally enjoyed my time playing this month with the Skipping Stones Design Stamp Tramps!!! Thanks ladies for having me back!!!  You've made this month a lot of fun.  What else has made it so fun?  The fab sketches by Lea Lawson.  I know I'll be using some of her sketches again, that's for sure.  For my card, I've decided to use my fave set called "Funny Coffee".  I don't pull it out enough but it's been a long time fave of mine.  The funny thing is.... I don't even really like coffee.  Crazy I know.... I decided to flip the sketch to get the look I was going for. (although now that I look at my card, I could have kept it right side up. Oh well).  I've stamped the coffee cup from this set with Versafine Onyx Black and then used clear embossing powder.  I then stamped the cup again on DP, so that I could get the blue striped band.  Each layer of DP (Bo Bunny, Deja Views and unknown) has been dry embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folders.  The main image (coffee cup) and the sentiment have both been popped up for a bit of extra dimension.

We'd love you to play along with the sketch!! If you play along, make sure to link it up at the SSD blog or using the keywords SSD65 in any online gallery.

Once again, Thank you to Heather and the ladies at Skipping Stones Design for having me back!!!

TSG Sneak Peeks - Under the Weather

Wow - has this month ever flown by! Wowza!! I can't believe it is time for this month's There She Goes release already. I tell you... you should definitely grab a coffee, a blanket and curl up to check out all the fab eye candy that the Trendsetters have in store for you today.

For today's blog hop, I'm the second stop. You should have arrived here from Megan Lock's blog. Doesn't that girl have talent???  If there is a break along the way, be sure to go back to the TSG blog to find your way.

We are so happy to be introducing a new artist joining the TSG team…please welcome MELYSSA CONNOLLY! You may know her artwork from her wildly popular Whimsie Doodles’ store, and she has been gracious enough to design this playful and spring-filled stamp set. Whimsical images, borders, and sentiments included on one fabulous set! You’ll never feel blue or under the weather using this adorable addition to the TSG roll call!

Can I just say how much fun I had playing with this set?  It was so hard to choose which images to work with to be honest. I decided to use the puddle as well as two of the birds.  I just thought that they looked so cute together - two little birds just standing in the puddle.  Kinda takes you back to childhood when you would jump in the puddles to try to get your friends wet.  Yup  - I was that kid ;-)  Cheeky I know. I've watercolored the image with my Tombow markers and added a bit of highlighting with a white gel pen.  The layout has been inspired by a recent card by Jackie Pedro that I changed up to fit my card.

Now head on over to the amazingly talented Corinna's blog for your next bit of eye candy today!!!

“Under The Weather” is a 4X8 stamp set that includes a total of 25 stamps and will sell for $18.

Would you like a chance to win the “Under The Weather” stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their “Under The Weather” Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own “Under The Weather” stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (Feb 26th) during the Release Party Chat.

TSG95 Stamping Simply

Hola!!! It's been a quiet few days here on my blogarooni but I've been busy working behind the scenes gettng ready for the next There She Goes release.  I can't wait for you to see all the new sets coming your way!!! You'll love them - talk about cuteness!!!  In the mean time, I've made a card for this week's There She Goes Challenge brought to you by our fearless leader Jessica which is to "stamp simply" a la Julie Lacey and create a card using ONLY LINED-ART….no coloring, no shading…use the outlined image only as the focal point. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

For my card, I've used one of the mini sets called "Kindred Spirits" and stamped a couple of the "line" images in Melon Mambo.  I've used this color combo for this set before and I absolutely love it.  I find it makes the image just pop and as you already know it's my fave color combo.

We want you to join in and it's super easy -

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that utilizes LINED ART ONLY, and then go back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Feb 28th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG95 so we can check out your beautiful work!

See you back here tomorrow for the beginning of our sneak peeks!!!!

BLDC#5 A little ballerina

Well hello there!  I hope it's been a great week for you with Valentine's Day now being over.  I had a bit of extra time to play this week and I just got this too cute Lollipop called Avery from Lori Boyd Designs.  This image seemed fitting for this week's color challenge at Lori Boyd Designs of Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso, Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette.  So I might have cheated just a little bit but the colors are all there one way or another.  As you can tell, I pulled all the colours from the DP's that I've used.  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and then added a little bit of highlighting with a white gel pen.  I had so much fun playing and you should join in too!!!

Have a great day !!!

MFTWSC7 It must be love

Wow - it's been a busy week although I feel like I haven't gotten enough accomplished. But I always try to make time for my card therapy.  Let's just say I needed to make a card, my mind was needing it!  I noticed last night that this week's sketch challenge for MFT is now up so I had to play.  I realized one thing though when making this card... I need more sentiment sets from MFT (the only sentiments I have are ones that come in other sets but nothing that is specifically sentiments).  The sentiment I've used is from one of the a la mode sets called "It must be Love".  Believe it or not... I've had the Rolled Rose die since it came out months ago but this is the first time I'm using it on a card, sad isn't it?  One of the reasons I haven't used the die is that it is so hard to find great felt in Canada (most places only have the cheap stuff that frays) so when I went to Washington state a couple of weeks ago for a girls stamping weekend, I picked up a whole bunch of it.  Wahoo!!! I'm a happy camper I tell ya!!  The DP comes from the Basic Grey Hopscotch Line.  Loving how it all came together... Now I just have to wait to give it to someone.

SSD64 Thank you

Welcome to the Skipping Stones Design Blog Hop to celebrate the release of Pumpkin Seed Sentiments! If you've just happened upon my blog today, make sure to start from the beginning at Skipping Stones Design. You should have arrived here from Kandi's blog.

As soon as I saw this week's sketch I knew I wanted to keep my card simple.  I've stamped the patterned image in Pink Pirouette onto Pink Pirouette cardstock and then made a small banner and stamped Thank You in Early Espresso.  The flower is from an old SU mini (if you can believe it, this is the first time I've used one of them).  I love the simplicity of the card as it shows off the beauty of this new set.

Combined with the blog hop today, it's also Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday which means we're showcasing another great creation from our Guest Sketch Artist this month, Lea Lawson. We'd love for you to play along with the sketch and link your card at the Skipping Stones Blog. A free stamp set is up for grabs to a lucky winner that joins our sketch challenge! *** Just to let you know - Heather sent me an extra set this month for blog candy so on my blog, I have Bras Vol. 2 up for grabs (I'll be picking the winner next week from everyone who comments on this post).

The next stop on the blog hop is Tammie. Check out the fabulous eye candy she has for you!!

Thanks for dropping by :-)

TSG94 Nothing but love...

This week’s challenge is brought to you by this month’s Trendy of the Week, Megan at There She Goes. She wants us to create a card using the following colors: Pink, Kraft, and Ivory. I've been a long time fan of Megan's so when I found out she was going to be one of our "Trendies" I was super excited! Her style is amazing and each time I visit her blog, I'm inspired!!  I hope that with this color comb you'll be inspired too!

As soon as I saw the color combo, I thought vintage or at least vintage looking. I've had this MME DP for quite some time and let's just say I've been hoarding it! (I'm trying to find more of this polkadot pattern and it hasn't been easy).  This is the first time that I've had the opportunity to use a newer release from There She Goes  called "Love" which was illustrated by our amazing leader, Jessica. Let's just say that this card went through a few transformations and this is the final result.  I've loosely used this week's Mojo Monday challenge but rather than using the circle element I decided to use the rhinestone swirls gone wild...  and I've placed the main image of Love a bit lower down as it seemed to fit the card much better this way.  I also made this card for Jeanie Whitmer's That's Krafty Thursday challenge which is to use Kraft on a card.

Want to play along with the Trendsetters this week?  Here's how...

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that utilizes the previously mentioned color combo, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Feb 21st).

If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG94 so we can check out your beautiful work!

FTL127 Welcome Baby

Well hello there!! I hope you're all enjoying a nice beautiful Sunday!  It's finally stopped raining here - yesterday it was torrential downpours for most of the day and now today the sun is shining.  Wahoo!!  I had a chance to sit down this morning to play so I decided to color up Puddle Jumper Baby Addy from Lori Boyd Designs.  I had this DP sitting on my desk (well not sitting on my desk but it was in the leaning tower of craft supplies - I'm currently re-organizing my craft area so let's just say it's a disaster area) so I decided why not use up the scraps?  Both DP's have been dry embossed with Cuttlebug folders and the image has been watercolored with my Tombow Markers.  I love the soft look to the image combined with the DP. For the layout of my card, I've used this week's Fall to Layout at Clean and Simple Stamping.  Hope you like it!!

I'm off to finish cleaning up my craft area and of course make another card to procrastinate (Have I mentioned I hate cleaning!!!).

Dancing in the Rain

It's been awhile since my Bellas have come out but when Kim Teasdale gave me this stamp, I couldn't wait to play with it... and then it sat in my purse for a few weeks.  Last weekend really re-inspired and rejuvenated me.  I think one of the things that helped inspired me was a bundle of new goodies.... lots and lots of paper!!

This was my stash of goodies I bought last weekend at Toadilly Scrappin' and Artco.  OMGoodness....I was in crafting heaven (that pile of DP is at least an inch high).  I loved both stores but wow ARTCO.... fantastic!!! Orgasmic!!! Amazing!!! This is by far the best art supply store I have ever been in.  We spent quite a bit of time there but we could have easily spent even more time there.  So what did I buy? A bunch of felt in cool colors, some blocks to alter, chalk pencils, tons of May Arts Ribbon, Swirly things, and a ton of DP.

For my card, I've used a newer bella called "Rain never stopped me a bella".  Wow... that's quite a long name!!  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow markers and kept the layout fairly simple. After all, I wanted to show off some of the cool DP's I bought.

CAS Thanks

Hello and thank you for dropping by!! I was on a CAS kick over the weekend which is something I rarely do.  I'm used to making cards with a lot of layers but I always love the "clean" look of a CAS card.  At least a year or so ago, Shannan Teubner made a card with this layout and I loved it.  It seems to be one of my go to layouts when it comes to CAS. For my card, I've used the TSG mini set called "Branches".  I thought that this Amuse cardstock that I picked up at my local stamp store awhile back was perfect and lends itself to a clean card.  I stamped both the sentiment and branches in Early Espresso and then used soft blue rhinestones to accentuate the branch.

Have a wonderful day!!!

SSSC103 Have a Cuppa!!!

Hey there!!! It'll be a busy couple of weeks on my blog as I made a lot of cards during our girls' pj stamping weekend. I borrowed this cute set from Kim Teasdale  from The Cat's Pajamas called "A Cuppa".  I had been eying this set for quite some time so when I finally had the chance to use it, I just had to.  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers (although I'm not totally fond of my coloring on this one). While we were away we hit up some amazing scrapbooking and art stores and I managed to score this awesome DP. I think it's from We R Memory Keepers but I'm not totally sure. For some reason this DP just screams a "food or cooking" theme - guess it kinda reminds me of a picnic blanket.  I've paper pieced the apron for a bit of pizazz.   The layout for this card comes from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Have a great day!!!

SSD63 Butterfly Wishes

Hey there everyone!!!  I'm back for week 2 as one of this month's guest designers at Skipping Stones DesignLea Lawson has come up with some great sketches for this month and this one allowed me to pull out an older set called "Dandelion Dreams".  I drew my inspiration for this card from the Marjolaine line of Basic Grey.  I love how well it works with the stamp set. I stamped a portion of two of the images in Versamark and then Old Olive ink and then embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then sponged Soft Sky around the edges of the Nestabilities to highlight it a bit.  I'm so glad I had this handy dandy butterfly punch from Martha Stewart. I've pulled it out for so many cards and it always adds that little bit of dimension.  It's a simple card yet I feel like it packs a punch.

Make sure you check out what the Design Team has for you today. I'm sure it's fabulous eye candy!!
